First Round of Treatment

Welcome to krislawing.com! Kris has recently been diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. Kris is 36 year old non-smoker. He has been married for 10 wonderful years to Renee and has a 6 year old son, Grant.

This site has been developed to keep family and friends up to date on Kris's treatments and progress. Please take a moment to review our site and send your best wishes, prayers and thoughts to the Lawings.

NOTE FROM THE LAWING FAMILY

Kris came home Sunday and he feels much better. His surgery went well. As many may know the cancer had spread to the heart area and was filling up with fluid-so a window opening" was cut so the fluid can drain out of the pericardium into the chest cavity and assimilate. This will be a permanent window and should not affect his health. The purpose was to keep the sac from filling up with fluid and putting more pressure on his heart.

He is taking radiation treatments for his brain on a daily basis for 15 days as well as a pill called tarceva.This also will be for 15 days and after that an x-ray will be taken to re-evaluate the next step, and were praying with Gods help, there will be no next step. If so, the next step will be chemo.

Renee is doing well. She is a precious daughter- in- law, a wonderful wife, and mother. We are all proud of the way she is helping Kris get through this and we believe he "WILL" get through this. Please continue to pray for our son and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your prayers and financial help. I look forward to the day when there is no need for doctors and hospitals, dont you?
